I grew up on the lakes of Minnesota, where I developed a deep love of the outdoors. I enjoy exploring nature however I can, whether that’s by car, bike, foot, ski, or canoe. I love to read, and I’m currently trying to knit a sweater.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin—Madison and my Master’s in Journalism from the University of Oregon. Writing is my focus, but I’m skilled in photojournalism, too.

I want to tell stories that explore the intersection of people's lives with larger systems. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between climate change and incarceration, but I’m excited to dive into almost any topic.
